Not a Patchouli lover? Read on. When you combine this scent with citrus, the fragrance profile is elevated with a complexity that takes these bars from their traditional “hippie” vibe to a “relaxing spa” vibe.
Our double butter recipe features coconut milk for a nourishing and fluffy lather, and tussah silk for “slip”. We created two different swirls inside the soap, and incorporated indigo powder, French green clay and alfalfa powder for colour. These colours will settle and become more muted by the time we slice them.
It took everything in me to leave the tops of these bars unadorned! We are going for a simpler aesthetic with our soap batches this year and are letting the ingredients speak for themselves.
The result? Lather, texture, slip, creaminess, longevity, fabulous aroma, and something that can be proudly and beautifully displayed in between uses.
